Werk!!!

The countdown is on: 14 shows till 2 weeks off!

Today was a crazy day at work, jumped in at the last minute to fill in for dancers who got injured and got sick during the show. Adrenaline kicks in when you get off stage from one number and the stage manager asks you to go in to a spot you just learned the day of.  Or when your friend next to you on stage tells you she can't move her neck, she runs off stage and you have to figure out how, where and when to fill in the gaps so her abscence is as invisible as possible. I started that opening number as myself and ended as her, jumped in to her next number and it all was seamless to the eye of the audience.  Good thing I'm a pro.

And Go Viva Elvis cast. Because I saved that part of the show, but it's all team work and other fierce dancers filled in for other parts of the show. And that is not recognized enough; dancers will ALWAYS make it happen and look good while doing it.
Fierce.

The best part of my day though was when my dance master personally came up to me backstage towards the end of the second show and thanked me and acknowledged me for doing a good job and performing something brand new. Acknowledgement is the best reward.

I saved the day, my friends saved the day, we saved the show... Werk!

And we are very much looking forward to our 2 week vacation.  It's just around the bend!
Canada and Hawaii!!! Can't wait!!!
